Kyocera builds power of A3 into A4 MFPs

index.-cps-000120-Image.cpshomepagetabbedcomponent

The three new additions to Kyocera’s Taskalfa range, the 406ci, 356ci and 306ci, have respective print speeds of 40ppm, 35ppm and 30ppm and come with up to 1200 dpi for the best quality document output. They are aimed at workgroups and departments which require the highest levels of functionality and paper handling, combined with reduced upfront costs and low running expenses.

They are aimed at small to large workgroups who use a colour A3 MFP because of the functionality, yet print on A4 most of the time. The new range offers up to 3100 sheet paper tray capacity, double sided printing, scanning, copying and faxing, and full finishing options. Thanks to their fast output, scanning speeds and finishing versatility, the new MFPs boast high productivity, with all key functions being easily accessible using an intuitive menu on a large touchscreen.

“Our new A4 colour multifunctionals are ideal for workgroups and departments who have tight IT budgets, yet need high-capacity printing and advanced finishing options,” says Brandon Zabielski, hardware product manager at Kyocera Document Solutions SA. “SMMEs, educational institutions, legal firms, and the hospitality industries are just some examples of the type of organisation that will appreciate the functionality, affordability and flexibility of these MFPs.”

Kyocera provided the following information:

The new Taskalfa 406ci and 356ci combine the high volume capacities and advanced paper handling options of larger devices with the easy installation, footprint and flexibility of a more compact MFP. “Their exceptional functionality streamlines document processes, while vivid, high-quality colour printing adds value to your business,” says Zabielski.

All three machines can be easily integrated into existing workflows and tailored to meet the specific needs of an organisation by using Kyocera’s open software platform HyPAS. Combining Java and Web Services technology, Kyocera’s HyPAS-enabled software (including virtual fax system, integrated capturing solutions, print management solutions, advanced workflow capabilities and the ability to index and store documents for easy search and retrieval) can transform these MFPs into a business tool that goes beyond the traditional functions of a normal MFP, improving printing, security and usability easily from the control panel.

They can be quickly and easily set up using the control panel. With their excellent compatibility, the MFPs fit perfectly into your office environment when using ordinary business applications such as Document Management Systems or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). From mobile and cloud, to cost control and security solutions, Kyocera also offers a robust portfolio of Business Applications that seamlessly integrate with Kyocera MFPs.

Kyocera launches 5 new A4 Colour Ecosys Printers & MFPs

South Africa, 3 August, 2015: Kyocera Document Solutions, one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, announces the launch of three printers and two MFP colour devices. All are based on the award-winning Ecosys technology, including the durable drum with a yield of up to 300,000 pages, lowering waste generated during the life of the product and further enhancing Kyocera’s impressive environmental credentials. The new A4 colour line up is ideal for all workgroups who are looking for managed colour and the lowest CPP in their class.

The market for high speed A4 devices continues to grow significantly and there is increasing expectation that these devices perform at levels normally expected for A3 devices. The series is ideal for teams who need a variety of media capability from A6 to A4 with up to five paper trays simultaneously using different paper sizes and weight of up to 220gsm, giving even the most demanding office full flexibility.

The Ecosys P6035cdn and P7040cdn boast a 5 line LCD display and alphanumeric keypad for ease of use and effortless entry of pin codes. Access control allows limits to be set by a user profile or application profile to reduce colour printing when it is not needed, for instance when printing e-mails. The printers also boast reduced TEC values and noise levels which, when combined with Ecosys long-life technology, ensure they are unrivalled when it comes to economical accreditation.

Superior colour and first rate features

Also equipped with mobile printing support, the MFPs have high performance speeds of up to 35ppm in both colour and black & white and scan up to 60 pages per minute. All products offer double sided print, scan and copy functionality as standard, and even the 30ppm model, EcosysM6530cdn, offers advanced scanning, performance and capacity typically only available in high end models. Kyocera doesn’t focus on printing alone

Quocirca’s Managed Print Services Landscape, 2014 report stated that the managed print services (MPS) market continues to evolve beyond the core services of device consolidation towards driving improved business efficiency around paper-dependent processes.

The executive summary of the report stated that “companies looking to start or extend their MPS journey should look for an MPS provider that can have a truly transformative business impact. Employees are demanding access to the latest technologies that enable them to work flexibly and productively.

Meanwhile, customer expectations are changing, meaning organisations must interact in more dynamic, agile ways to maintain competitive advantage. This demands a new kind of MPS provider that can tame the complexity of the print infrastructure, removing the IT burden, whilst helping them focus on innovation and employee and customer satisfaction.”

KYOCERA Document South Africa echoes the findings in the Quocirca’s research which says that despite the perception that mobile devices such as tablets may reduce the need for printing, mobility in the government; enterprise and SMMB environments are driving significant changes in the printing and managed document landscape.

Because KYOCERA doesn’t focus on printing alone, but provides a wider service offering with the ultimate goal of not only managing but improving document workflow within business, the offering is broad and adapted to the different needs for government, large corporates and smaller enterprises.

Demand for mobile printing is steadily on the rise, and KYOCERA offers integrated cloud-based mobile print solutions that embrace mobile platform diversity, bringing the same level of security and control to printing that applies to laptops and desktops.

The June 2014 Quocirca report says “Kyocera is emerging as a credible player in the market with its MDS proposition, which is primarily delivered through its dealer network” and nearly a year later the focus continues to be on offering superior managed document solutions.
